Editorial Standards
Funny voice. Serious sourcing.
The sarcasm is decorative. The evidence is structural. Here is how we keep the two from starting an office brawl.
Our Publishing Standard
Every health claim needs somewhere credible to stand.
Sources
We prioritise Australian Government health information, clinical guidelines, systematic reviews, peer-reviewed research and recognised specialist organisations.
Evidence and uncertainty
We distinguish strong evidence from emerging, limited or conflicting research. Association does not automatically mean causation. A study finding does not become a universal promise.
Medical review
Editorial checking is not the same as clinical review. Content is only described as clinically or medically reviewed when a suitably qualified reviewer has assessed it. We do not imply review that did not happen.
Plain English and inclusion
We translate jargon without flattening important nuance. We mainly use “women” because that is our core audience. We recognise that trans men, non-binary people and others may also experience perimenopause and menopause.
Products and commercial influence
Commercial relationships, sponsorships and affiliate links are disclosed. Products do not purchase favourable health coverage. Our own products are clearly identified as products.
Corrections and updates
Material errors are corrected promptly. Important medical guidance changes may trigger an update. Send correction requests to hello@the-hormonal-dispatch.com.
